Oliver’s Teether Toy Trials–Day Three

on January 13, 2013

Well, we’re on day three of the teether toy trials and today we have been trying the Nuby Teething Blankie Toy and I am 50/50 on this one.  I love the colours, the fabric, the fact that it crinkles and that Oliver can hold it himself and move it about.  He can even get it to his mouth and get the bits in to chew on it but (yes I’m sorry there is a but) he sees it more as a toy and crinkles the fabric and plays rather than realising that he can chomp down on it and since we have been out and about today, even though we took the blankie with us, we reverted to the Gum-eez teether instead with some Calgel on it.

The things I like about this teether:

Red heart Oliver loves it – as you can see above.

Red heart It is fun, lovely and bright to look at, different textures to feel and a nice teddy face in the middle that squeaks.

Red heart Oliver can get it to his mouth himself.

Red heart All corners of the comforter have a teether bit on there so the fabric doesn’t get sucked instead.

Red heart It can be used as a comforter as well, during sleepy times – see the picture below.

Red heart It can be used from 3 months.

Things I think bring it down from a 5 star product.

Broken heart Oliver thinks it’s a toy so it never really got used as a teether.

Overall, another 4 out of 5 star.  Oliver loves it but to play with, so day three took us back to day two’s teether and that one seems to be looking likely to be the best one for Oliver * at the moment * but of course, this may change as he gets older and other teeth are coming through and he is more co-ordinated.

  1. Ted only ever used this one as a toy, too. I don’t think it really had the impact of the others and I can’t remember the last time it came out of the toy box. His Nanna bought him this so it was a bit of a shame for her, but she was as big a fan of Nuby as we are so it was just on to the next thing…

It is a lovely product, but I would just think it was a comforter rather than a teether x Oliver seemed to agree x
