My Journey

From mind to paper and back again.

Prelude to Christmas

on December 16, 2008

My feet are cold and my hands like ice,
The wind is chilling my body through
To get into the warmth would be rather nice
Except for that call from out of the blue

The town centre’s packed tight
The shoppers struggling under the weight
The colours of their bags stand out so bright
Christmas is definitely not a time to hate

The Christmas tree is up in the living room now
The presents are wrapped and ready for underneath
We’ll get the star on the top somehow
And the festive season will cover our grief
